Night Walks

It was yet another Tuesday of the third month of the year and the day passed with nothing to write home about. In the evening we had gone for our night walk after supper. Well, I could say, these light night walks was something that I still relish from my childhood. I spent my childhood in an Island, where by the dusk, time stood still and the night walks with my parents, along the banks of the backwaters, were one of the favorite moments of my childhood days. Lucky for me, my globe trotting spouse too enjoys the night walks as a family time. But it became a ritual after our pet Tusch came into our lives. As much as I look forward for it in the evenings, so does Tusch.

Tusch all set for evening walk.
Our normal walkway is along the alley near our apartment. The exit has a small gate which can be accessed with an access card. If I remember right, in a period of last three months the exit gate was faulty for 4 to 5 times. Some people use the exit, so I am rather careful when I take my doggy for his walks. It is better visualized than written the sight of 'all stressed office-goers' startled by the sudden bark of dogs and dropping things all around. To avoid such funny situations, I make sure to hear the gate opening prior to our being there. Last night I heard the gate sound and walked towards it. Little could I suppress my shock for being caught in this awkward moment, when I saw a huge Caucasian on his fours on top of the wall beside the gate. As embarrassed he was at that time and boom, he jumped down. The rest was a lot of explanations for the embarrassing moment, with the faulty gate as the cause for it. Tusch had his day, barking to the fullest.
It is always a pleasure for a night walk with such uncalled for incidents to end the day with a big laugh...
